DayoneHR is 5 Years Old!

Time flies when you’re having fun. In the blink of an eye, a business concept goes from an idea to a fully fledged and successful private company. You find yourself sitting at your desk scratching your head and asking: where did all the time go? On 2nd February 2022, DayoneHR will officially be 5 years old! We cannot believe we have completed 5 years of providing consultancy services to clients across the globe.

These first 5 years have been an exciting, eye-opening, eventful and at times challenging rollercoaster ride. DayoneHR was founded with the purpose to help HR and leadership with transformational projects that would allow them to focus on their people. Looking back, it has been a journey filled with emotions and there are just too many stories to tell. Our founder, Lauren Cowan, single-handedly started the company after witnessing and experiencing the challenges that HR teams in organisations face on a daily basis. This gave her a purpose in which to grow the business and she remains passionate about solving HR problems to this day.

In a previous blog, Lauren shared the story behind the name of the company. Lauren was working with Amazon when she encountered the philosophy that every day should be welcomed as though it was ‘Day 1’. This means embracing a start-up mentality and not being afraid of change. So, that’s how we got our amazing name! And as the name says, we continue to treat every day and every project as if it’s day one… even all these years later!

Our 5 year adventure has been amazing so far, full of many highs and of course - as with any business - some challenges too. One moment, we can be celebrating our wins, the next it’s all hands on deck supporting our clients with urgent requests. One can never predict how the day will start and end - that's why we love what we do. This is the true environment for growing businesses, which all startups can relate to. No matter what, our work is always fun.

We would like to take this opportunity to celebrate with all of our supporters, partners and especially our clients by giving thanks for their loyalty and placing their trust in us as industry leaders to solve their business challenges.

We have been honoured to work closely with many clients who gave us incredible opportunities and responsibilities to elevate their HR function. We’ve enjoyed collaborating with a variety of different HR technology providers and valued partners to make a difference in the lives of our clients. And, of course, a big shout out to all our supporters, well-wishers and people like you reading this blog, who have been heroes for us by supporting and engaging with our content and services. Thank you to everyone who believed in us, encouraged us and came on the journey with us!

Last but not least, we really should give ourselves a bit of recognition for a job well done. The core team at DayoneHR who’ve made the past 5 years possible. Our founder, Lauren, for being an awesome boss to work with and for always bringing the fun to work. Andy, for keeping on top of many essential tasks behind the scenes (special thanks for making sure everyone always gets paid on time! 😁) And myself, Yogina, who is the newest team member and who supports Lauren by wowing our clients with insights and consultancy expertise.
