Lauren Cowan - Our Founder

Lauren has worked in Human Resources her entire career. In 2016, she founded DayoneHR through a vision to strengthen and support companies by improving their people processes with modern HR technology.

With an impressive background in HR and a passion for implementing great HR tech, Lauren set out as a consultant to share her expertise with a variety of businesses. Since then, she has completely transformed HR departments for many clients over the years. She’s also helped startups secure VC funding by improving HR compliance processes and HRIS reporting.

Lauren continues to revolutionise people functions and empower businesses by delivering HR tech transformation projects for clients of DayoneHR. Recently, she launched DayoneHR Courses where she shares her years of experience and knowledge to help others build their career in HR technology and upskill the HR tech leaders of the future.

Our Story

DayoneHR was founded by Lauren after she realized first hand the challenges in managing HR processes and operational workload within a HR team.

She herself was living and breathing the pain points HR teams face every day, buried in emails and trying to complete heavily burdensome tasks whilst fighting the clock.

She soon realized that she wasn’t alone and that HR teams throughout the world were facing the same day-to-day challenges especially in small/medium sized organisations.

Then, in Christmas of 2016 she decided the only way to change this was to provide support to businesses and HR teams in adopting HR tech and automated process flows to help better manage the hurdles of running a HR/Talent/Employee Experience department.

This is the story of how DayoneHR was born!

Also, the name comes from her experience of working on projects at Amazon. Amazonians followed the principle that every day is “day one”.

The philosophy of embracing the start up mentality and going back to basics to focus on the essentials of an organisation - treating every day and every project as if it’s day one.

This seemed like the perfect philosophy to carry forward into the new venture. Thus, the name DayoneHR was created.

Since then, DayoneHR has supported and partnered with clients across the globe and has witnessed the power of HR Tech transformation.

In 2022 the company celebrated their 5 year anniversary and shortly after were recognised as a Top HR Tech Influencer to follow.
